This post is part of the garage gym setup series.

Gym mirrors are an essential part of building a functional home or garage gym. That said they are a topic of complexity as everyone has varying amounts of space and this doesn’t always align with your budget or availability of quality mirrors if you’re buying locally.

In this article, I wanted to go over some of the basics of where to buy everything from large mirrors to inexpensive cheaper options. I’ll also be going over a number of available options online and then giving you some additional ideas for good measure. So let’s get to it.

Some of the best mirrors for your gym are the ones that have been tried and tested. This will also give you a good sense of how much good quality mirrors can cost you. So that being said here are some you need to know about.

Better Bevel Frameless Rectangle Wall Mirror

This is a great gym mirror for those with limited space as they are a little smaller by nature as this is actually a vanity mirror.

At 30″ x 36″ and completely frameless, this rectangular mirror can be installed next to additional mirrors if you buy more than one.

It’s also worth noting that Better Bevel offers 7 size options for the same model. So if the dimensions on this one aren’t quite right it’s worth looking at their other options.

This long mirror is ideal for those who just want something that they can use to watch their form easily. As a standing option, you won’t need to do any installation with this mirror if the minimal fuss is important to you.

At the height dimension of 65″ (5.4 feet) it’s going to be ideal for deadlifts, squats, and curls even for taller people at a sensible distance away from the mirror.

At 36″ x 72″ this mirror is better for those with a slightly longer wall in their gym where you might want to cover as much wall as possible.

With a width (horizontal dimensions) of 6 feet, it’s going to give most home and garage gyms a satisfactory coverage. That said if it’s not enough you can always purchase more than one for continuity of design.

The mirror is safety backed which is definitely more important for larger mirrors such as this one, and as it comes with a decent installation kit it can be easily installed at home with an extra pair of hands.

This mirror is a tall frameless mirror that measures in at 72″ so just over 6 feet in total. As such this mirror is ideal for smaller spaces if you’re utilizing a smaller room or a portion of a room in your home.

How Much Do Gym Mirrors Cost?

You can use any kind of mirror as a gym mirror, and as such, this means the cost can vary from ten dollars to thousands of dollars.

Tailor-made mirrors for gyms are pricier and will generally range in the hundreds up to thousands depending on the size and features e.g. frameless, etc.

There is no fixed price for buying a gym mirror so how much it will cost you is going to depend on your needs and your budget.

Pro tip: Buying used mirrors can save you big $$$.

Where To Buy:

A lot of people ask where they should buy gym mirrors, and the answer is that it depends…

If you have a lower budget then you might have a better chance of buying cheap gym mirrors on second-hand on places like CraigsList, eBay or Facebook Marketplace. If you want large mirrors then it might be better to buy them from somewhere that can ship to you directly, etc.

For people with limited space and need something more compact, you can go with options such as vanity mirrors that you can pick up in HomeDepot, Lowes and other home improvement stores.

There are also great options in many different marketplaces and sites online. If you want the best for your needs you might have to shop somewhere other than your favorite store.

  • Amazon
  • CraigsList
  • Walmart
  • Target
  • BestBuy
  • eBay
  • Facebook Marketplace
  • Home Improvement Stores

Garage and Home Gym Mirror Ideas:

Sometimes the mirrors on the market just aren’t right for you and you need to look elsewhere and a source of inspiration for ideas can really help. These are our top picks for the best ideas for home or garage gym mirrors.

Free or Cheap Mirrors

If you’re looking to score a mirror for free then you will want to look on sites such as Craigslist and Freecycle. The downside is that you could be waiting for some time for what you’re looking for to show up.

Whereas if you’re on a tight budget and can’t afford much it can be a good idea to check in with home improvement stores to see what they have to offer.

Sites such as eBay, Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace also offer plenty of options to buy used gym mirrors on the cheap.

Vanity Mirrors

You can use large vanity mirrors for your gym, or even medium-sized ones…

My thoughts have always been if the dimensions are right, there’s no reason to care where it comes from.

Places such as Walmart, Home Depot and others can be a great way to check for these as they represent a viable option and many even come without frames.

Safety Mirrors

If you’re looking for safety glass then it’s easy to get hold of these via online marketplaces such as Amazon.

They are also relatively inexpensive costing around $200-$400 for anything in 30″ – 80″ ranges which come in all shapes and sizes.

Most of them come with all you need to hang them yourself, however, this also makes it easier to have an installer come and do it for you.

Professional Mirrors

So if you’re looking for that commercial gym grade, high-quality look then you’ll need to bring in the professionals!

The reason for this is because these mirrors are larger, often spanning an entire wall which can be very large in some rooms. The glass itself is also thicker as most commercial gyms know that if they buy cheap they often buy twice.

Because of this, these mirrors need to be professionally installed by a team and so the cost of using an online service is much higher since they might have to travel cross-country to do it.

Instead, the better option is using a local supplier and installer of glass such as a window company. It’s not super expensive to do this and it’ll almost definitely be cheaper than paying a specialist company to do it unless they happen to be local to your area.

The Final Rep:

So that’s everything you should need to know to make an informed decision about purchasing the right gym mirror for your home or garage gym. I hope it helped!
